"DESERT RAT"
As you probably have
guessed by now that I am a child of the 1960's. Having been born in 1948
it works out. Well this painting was done in 1977.
I lived, the first thirty years of my life on beautiful, green and damp,
Vancouver Island. In the city of Victoria.
This painting is ironic in that in the 70's I was miles away in body and
soul from this Desert Rat. I did eventually arrive in the desert but it
took until 1985 before there was some comparison to this picture. I may
have looked a wee bit like him when I was 29 years old but the
comparison ends there and I sure didn't plan it.
New Mexico does not have those tall Arizona cactus either.
The watercolor is approx.10"x25". |
