"RATTLESNAKE AT THE PETROGLYPHS" If you have ever seen a petroglyph anywhere in the country you know what a glimpse it is into our national past. I have seen them on the rocks at Flathead Lake in Montana and they are very different but have a like purpose and that is to reflect the native environment and to attract game. These are scratched on the lava rock on the west side of Albuquerque. A must see for visitors. To learn more click here. The painting shows a snake and a bird with a snake is his mouth which was the inspiration for this piece. The snake is indigenous to the area . I discovered that by a visit to the Rattlesnake Museum in Old Town, Albuquerque. click here. The painting is approx. 14"x19". |
